iTunes Update Failure Caused by Apple Software Updater

Apple Software Updater (ASU) failed on me – also iTunes failed to install. Turns out that iTunes also tries to install Apple Software Updater, so that was explained. Turned out that ASU couldn’t uninstall the previous version – and nor could I, via the control panel! MSICUU2 was the weapon of choice… see my full post for the story of how it was fixed…

WiiMotes and drivers.

Argh. Top tip – bluecove works like a charm under Linux, but too tricky under windows. I got as far as building x64 variant from the sources, but major issues with JNI calling vnprintf etc – turns out it won’t support the Microsoft stack fully anyway, you need widcomm (broad com) hardware… So futile anyway.

To get linux working – you also sneakily need blues development libraries installed. Then it all works magically – otherwise complains it can’t find bluecove_x64 – which it can, it just can’t load it due to other .so missing…

They’re all on the main Cakes page, but couldn’t resist flagging one up on the front page for a change…

Android SDK won’t install?

Solution? Hit “Back” then “Next”… and suddenly everything works. Most odd. See page on stackoverflow
