Multimedia Networking

  A major component of a multimedia sytem is the underlying network. We have seen above that this makes up the bottom later of the multimedia (RT) architecure model and the underlying network technology is a major factor in many system design issues (Section 24.4), For the remainder of this chapter we consider network issues in relation to multimedia systems requirements. We also refer to basic network ideas that may have been met before.
