Linus Benedict Torvalds (born December 28, 1969) is the earliest author of the Linux kernel. He initiated this open-source project and serves as the primary architect and project coordinator for the Linux kernel. He is one of the most famous computer programmers and hackers in the world today. Currently employed by the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), he is fully committed to developing the Linux kernel.
