Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who is respected and remembered as one of the greatest inventors of all time. He was a British computer scientist who made it possible for a system to view web pages, known as hypertext documents, over the Internet. He also served as a director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which oversees standards for the web. He was very concerned with maintaining freedom of information and limiting censorship on the Internet.
From October 1990 to the summer of 1991, Berners-Lee was the first web server, the first web client and a browser writing software. It was one of the technological marvels of the computer age. He built the World Wide Web. He introduced the concepts of nodes, hypertext and domains, which are the key elements of the World Wide Web as we know it today. 1990 saw the birth of the first version of the World Wide Web, with the help of Robert Kelly.
