CMT119 mainly introduces how to establish the thinking of solving problems through computer programs. Professors showed us how to decompose complex ideas into minor issues that computer programs can handle. Understanding the thinking logic of a subject is the basis for mastering the subject, which I think is very helpful. In addition, professors carefully explained how to use HTML and CSS to make web pages.
I was unable to adapt to this way of thinking at the beginning. However, with the practice of some professors to arrange and demonstrate how to build related websites, I am much better now with simple page design methods. I gained some confidence in learning and summarizing. It makes me understand that programming and designing web pages are not so complex. What I need to do is to analyze the problem and define my design goals. Computer thinking has changed my thinking, and my learning has become efficient. Now, I can understand the professor's demonstration more easily than before and understand some other programming code. II have learned to use the knowledge and methods I have learned to do the more challenging work.
Although the professor introduced methods and ways of thinking, it was evident that improving computer programming and other related abilities requires a lot of practice to become familiar with computer language. Although I have tried to design web pages independently, I am not familiar with using code and page layout, so it is difficult for me to persist in doing them. Looking back, I should have made more effort. In addition, my autonomous learning ability and searchability also need to be improved. Learning to use the resources and platforms provided by the university can improve more abilities. At present, I have made too little use of university resources.
Through reflection and summary of this course, I plan to focus on familiarizing myself with the programming language in the following learning time. I believe that programming language is the basis for solving all computer problems. Now that I have mastered the method of solving problems as a tool for solving problems, the programming language is critical. I am determined to practice more on how to build websites by HTML and CSS. And try to learn other programming tools.
I am very grateful for what I learned in CMT119 because it opened the door to the computer world for me and made the science of computers easy. More importantly, computer thinking can not only be applied in the computer field. It teaches me to look at and think about problems from multiple perspectives, reducing complexity to simplicity. I believe it will also help me succeed in other fields because all fields pursue efficiency, and using computational thinking can bring us outstanding efficiency.
