- FTP file downloads (server-to-client) may be performed either using
Explorer/Netscape, with ftp:// -type URL, or with a specialized FTP client, such as
Fetch/Interarchie (Macintosh), WS_FTP (for Windows), ftp (DOS), xftp, ftp (UNIX).
- Note that Explorer/Netscape FTP may not be used to perform file uploads (
client-to-server) unless the server has been specifically set up to do so.
The preferred method of ftp for this course is to use Fetch or Interarchie
on the Macintosh Computers.
