As an international student with no computer science background, at the beginning of this class I didn't understand why putting this module on the first two weeks, but after two weeks of learning I completely realized the meaningful of this course. The principles of Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, Abstraction, and Algorithm Design are powerful problem-solving tools that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. This revelation has broadened my perspective, making me acutely aware of how I can apply Computational Thinking in various contexts within my course of study. I learned HTML, CSS and JavaScript, which are the fundamental of the front-page development. During the class my group and I solved the challenges together and this experience not only strengthen my coding ability, but also increase the communication skills because we are from different countries with various culture backgrounds.
Moreover, I have gained a heightened appreciation for the efficiency and effectiveness of this problem-solving framework, which I think is the most impressive part of the class. Breaking down complex problems into manageable components not only simplifies the task at hand but also allows for more targeted resource allocation.
From my perspective, the challenges of computer science have been taking place frequently because of the significant development of technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis, which are already irreplaceable to human life. Computational thinking is like a key that you open the first door of the computer science, and behand the entrance is plenty of knowledge you need to learn and choose which specific area you are most interested.
