For each term, the variants are ordered by their frequency of occurrence in the corpus. The score in the rightmost column is called termhood and is calculated as a function of frequency and length (in tokens minus stopwords).

Note that acronyms are not defined explicitly in hospital discharge summaries. Still, FlexiTerm matches acronyms to their full forms without using any dictionaries. This paper provides more details on the approach used to extract implicit acronym definitions.
