Procedural Vs. OO
-
OO languages are attractive but they are still not widely used for scientific
computing on parallel computers. Reasons include
- Learning curve
- Perception that it results in slower performance
-
OO approaches may have more applicability in distributed computing where
commercial and financial applications are more important. In these areas
software engineering considerations are more important.
