Just saw the McLaughlin/DeFrancesco/Chambers trio Friday night here in DC.. tight, tight, tight and driving! Thanks to the SF area hammondist who gave the heads up notice a while back about their tour. This is a not-to-miss experience! I saw a small miked amp and another mike stand angled down below it next to Joey and no sign of a leslie, so I thought I'd get my first impression of a Pro 3. Talking to the trio's sound tech afterwords, it turns out he was using a leslie-effect box! Maybe the two amps were for separate bass line/right hand volume levels? He had a nice B3 he was playing, at least. Chambers was awesome with his range of thundering bass drum staccatos to cymbal edge work.
