Aim of Course

Introduction to contemporary 2D and 3D Vision Techniques. Techniques addresses are mainly engineering type and not physiological or biological.

The course will start at the image formation stage address image processing and low level vision techniques and move right the way through to high level reasoning with images and ultimately recognition. Recognition is the Ultimate goal of any vision system.

• Image Input -- 2D and 3D imaging.
  
• Image Processing -- Image Reconstruction, Enhancement, Fourier Transforms, Contrast Enhancement.
  
• Edge detection and linking.
  
• Image Segmentation.
  
• Reasoning with images -- line labelling, relaxation labelling, Optical flow
  
• Object recognition -- Extended Gaussian Images, Object Modelling, Model based recognition.
