Network Connection

We described a variety of Networks in the previous Chapter. The nature of the Network and is connection in a distributed system is a prime fatcor.

Communication may be classified as follows:

• Point-to-Point
• Point-to-Multipoint and
• Multipoint-to-Multipoint

The functional rerquirements of these networks is:

• Identify the destinations
• Find the route to the destinations (routing - see Chapter 6)
• Transfer the data
