Reflection

Throughout this module, I enjoyed the experience in HTML and CSS coding as it is not difficult. One of the greatest lesson that I have learned in computational thinking is that we can build and design webpages in an optimal way and with simple elements. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language which is used to structure web pages. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet language that is used for web page design and describing how HTML elements should be displayed.

As a result, building a webpage is a fascinating experience. HTML and CSS languages are useful languages in all computer science fields. I have particularly valued the opportunity to code as it has improved my understanding of the technical skills. I have found that the computational thinking module is extremely useful. HTML and CSS skill will be useful in my future projects for building and designing any websites. These languages are more convenient and efficient than wex website which has limited templates to build your own website, thus the web builder has no design input. Therefore, wex is not an effective website to create a web page especially if you require a customised design. I have learned that “Wix” is not an effective website to create your web pages especially if you need a specific design for it. Some researchers demonstrate many cons about “wix” and other website’s builder one of them is not very suitable for professional businesses as well as it has limited features.

Ultimately, I have achieved a successful outcome; I learned and had a really good grasp of HTML and CSS languages. For instance, I am now able to build and design a webpage as well as able to easily and quickly structuring it and make it looks appealing. The computational thinking module especially HTML and CSS languages provided a valuable insight into building and designing a webpage. Now, I feel more confident about coding. I believe that all of these acquired skills will be utilised in my future career, which will require programming languages skills. The coding skills learned from this module are necessary for graduates that want to have careers such as application programmer and system designer. HTML and CSS languages are important in creating websites; it also has a significant role in creating and designing some mobile applications. Computational thinking is particularly insightful for my upcoming courses such as fundamentals of programming; which will be used for my project in the last semester. If the tutors have asked the students to build a website, these languages would be helpful in that case. HTML and CSS languages are also beneficial in some optional modules related to computing and IT management.
