The aim of my PhD is to investigate the exploitation and maximisation of sensor assets from a variety of sensor platforms and locations. Data fusion requires the combination of the data from the sensor assets to enable them to collectively perform a task such as object tracking or classification. Optimising sensor assets and sensor locations should ensure efficient data fusion.

The goals for my PhD are:

• Optimise sensor assets and locations to ensure efficient data fusion
• Experiment with Dynamic Programming to achieve this (suggested in Williams et al. 2005)
• Extend Williams et al. 2005 for tracking with:
• Multiple targets
• Classification
• More realistic scenarios (Sensors/Terrain)
• Investigate/Experiment with the topology of WSNs and the dynamic configuration of them
